The end of another year has arrived. And it was a challenging year, to say the least. New year’s resolutions were made and abandoned. Some hopes were deferred once again. Other hopes were realized- praise God- but looked a lot different to the imagined version.
But that’s how it goes in life, ain’t it? The good comes with more responsibility, and less time, while the bad is never too far behind. (As you can tell, this is going to be a joyous post.)
Speaking of posts, there haven’t been too many of those this year. The output has been downright pitiful, thanks for pointing that out. Life happened, I changed jobs, and now travel around 2 hours a day to work and home. Every day. I discovered anew the inverse relationship between exhaustion and creativity. Our parents omitted the truth that adulting is exhausting!
My personal highlight of this year has been the Shakespeare sermon on Othello. I also enjoyed our brief foray into some of the more ratchet aspects of the Old Testament. That is, until I fell dismally behind in my Bible reading plan. But, in the words of Deaconess Aaliyah: “If at first you don’t succeed…”
I have ambitious plans for The Treasure Chest in 2020. As the adage goes, “Reach for the stars, and you might hit the moon”.
We’ll keep on Getting Down in the OT, occasionally. I’m also very excited about 2 possible series that have been brewing in my mind for a while now: One called ‘Legacy’, and the other ‘Church’. Both will spark dialogue, and polarizing opinions. But what is The Treasure Chest here for if not for opinions and dialogue.
Whether your year went exactly according to plan, or life threw you many curveballs, I pray that we all will grow deeper in our faith and trust in our heavenly Father. May 2020 see God’s will being done on earth, and in our lives, as in heaven.
Until next year. Oh, and let a sister know what your hopes for 2020 are.
Ok. Byeeeeeeee!
